Andijan State Medical University (ASMU), formerly known as Andijan State Medical
Institute, was established in 1955 as the only medical higher-education institution in the
Fergana Valley. In April 2025, it officially gained university status, reinforcing its role in
medical education, healthcare research, and regional development.
Located in Andijan, Uzbekistan, the university operates under the Ministry of Health and
Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of Uzbekistan. It serves as a
hub for medical learning across eastern Uzbekistan and Central Asia.
